Last week I found myself at LaGuardia Airport people watching. During the hour or so that I sat in the ticketing area waiting to see whether a friend's flight would actually take off, I became fascinated by what can only be described as the airport hustle. This is when you rush to get to what you think is the right terminal on time only to learn that you're in the wrong place or the line to get through security looks like it will take more than an hour. Suddenly, you've crossed the line from being on time to the dangerous territory of being left behind. That's when panic threatens to rear its ugly head—especially when it puts that possible Shangri-La also known as a vacation in jeopardy. Is Bing a better search engine?

I've never thought much about the search engine that I use because, most of the time, I use Google. Even when I don't go to Google.com, I end up using Google because it is the default search engine for so many default start pages (such as the Mozilla Firefox page) or built into so many other pages (we use Google on ManicMommies.com for site search).



I say this all to explain why I didn't understand why the launch of Bing, Microsoft's new search engine, was such a big deal. And why I decided I needed to check it out.

The Fourth of July is quite possibly my favorite Holiday. There's nothing like a summer day spent celebrating our freedom as Americans with friends and family. I love getting everyone together for a festive meal and some celebratory cocktails before heading out to watch the fireworks.
